Balance in Chaos
In the structure of my paintings I aim for balance in chaos. A work is done when the two meet, the balance is always fragile.
In my latest paintings I encounter rooms with water
Personal subjects play an important role, this could be a chair ore a teacup that’s lingering around. These elements I mix with inspirited flashes of imagination, this could resemble bird ore insect like appearances. The result is a decorum in which something just happened, is happening or is about to happen. My paintings hold a secret, this secret you can sense in every work. There is no obvious explanation There is transcending barriers between realities.
My paintings are without exception of considerable size, my brushstroke is direct and energetic, my colours are clear. However in my latest work the spoiled colour has its place. I work in transparent thin layers which make you remember the collage.
To allow a sense of peace in my paintings I need to produce collages which I build op from scraps of paper and disregarded drawings.
